You vs Me
You meet a lot of different people in college- but no one ever comes close to those who are filled with the humility of Christ, His love, grace, and mercy. There’s always a huge difference when I hang out with those who are Christian vs the non Christians.
It’s hard to be with those where in an environment, all they want is best for themselves: the element of selfishness. As Christians, we’re not supposed to be of this world- not of humanity or what they concentrate on, but I feel like I’m falling into that trap everyday I’m not with those who concentrate on God’s purpose. Worst of all, I’m finding it even harder each day to give give give, to keep serving others outside of church when all they do is take.
This is just another reminder for myself to be close to those who are God’s people so I won’t be as discouraged.
Rereading Philippians always makes me feel better.
Armed with this verse now:
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Philippians 2:3
